Why it evolved
The immense hydrostatic pressure of the deep sea drives the evolution of a more robust internal structure, favoring a denser, more resilient gelatinous matrix and reduced reliance on gas-filled buoyancy organs which would collapse. Enhanced electro-reception allows it to navigate and hunt in the aphotic zone, a key condition of JoJoLands' deep oceans, while specialized bioluminescence aids in communication and luring prey in the darkness. This adaptation comes at the cost of reduced speed and the need for more energy to maintain tissue integrity under extreme pressure.
