Why it evolved
This hybrid inherits the iridescent scales and streamlined body from the Glimmerfin, but its cutaneous respiration is weakened by the Mudfish's adaptations. The intermediate mouth size allows for a more generalist diet than the pure herbivore Glimmerfin. Due to the distant relatedness and conflicting adaptations, this hybrid is likely sterile and possesses reduced vigour, struggling to thrive in fluctuating oxygen levels.
