Why it evolved
With the collapse of its primary food sources, the Gastric Scraper has evolved to maximize its chemosynthetic capabilities, developing larger internal organs for this purpose to survive the low-calorie environment of the Obsidian Sea. This shift allows it to subsist on mineral scrapes and dissolved nutrients more effectively. However, this increased reliance on chemosynthesis comes at the cost of a less developed radula, making it even more vulnerable to predation by the Cryo-Serpent if it cannot maintain its internal energy reserves.
