Why it evolved
Facing intense predation pressure from larger Ash Strider variants on the surface, the Resonant Symbiote Weaver's lineage has diversified into a pioneering role by adapting to less competitive subterranean environments. This descendant has developed ash-resistant chitin and enhanced sensory pits to navigate the dusty, low-visibility underground, allowing it to exploit detritus and smaller burrowing organisms as a primary food source, thus becoming a generalist omnivore. This divergence comes at the cost of the extreme specialization and efficient symbiotic communication seen in its ancestor, making it a less efficient hunter of its original prey types and more vulnerable in direct confrontation with established surface predators if caught out.
