Life primarily exists in the planet's few, shallow, hypersaline seas and in geothermally heated underground aquifers.

Why it evolved

This hybrid inherits excavation appendages and a detritus grinder from the Deep Silt Excavator, combined with the Spiked Siltworm's reduced metabolic rate and rudimentary spikes. The distant relation and differing specializations between the parents result in a strained cross, making the Grinding Siltwyrm unstable, likely sterile, and prone to organ degradation.
