Why it evolved
The opening of a new niche allows for a divergent shift towards generalism. The Ash Strider Scavenger has evolved a modified digestive system to process tougher, less nutritious carrion and even plant matter, reducing its reliance on the abundant but volatile prey base of the volcanic plains. This also allows it to survive lean periods, a crucial adaptation in the extreme temperature fluctuations of JoJoLands' geothermal vents, which can lead to periods of low prey availability. The trade-off is a reduced efficiency compared to the specialist Breaker Fang and Titan Breaker, making it more vulnerable in direct competition for fresh kills.
