Why it evolved
The sharp climate cooling drives selection for increased thermal insulation. The Cryo-Lure Siphonophore evolves a thickened integument and produces antifreeze proteins, a direct adaptation to the colder ocean temperatures of JoJoLands. This allows it to maintain metabolic function at lower temperatures, but the increased structural density and protein production comes at the cost of reduced tentacle surface area for nutrient absorption and a slightly slower overall size, making it more vulnerable to the larger Drifter species like the Abyssal Dominion Drifter.
