Why it evolved
This hybrid inherits the chemosensory prowess and tough skin of its parents, along with a more moderate size. However, the distant relation and differing evolutionary pressures have resulted in a strained cross. Its bioluminescence is significantly weakened, and tentacle musculature is reduced, making active hunting difficult, and it is likely sterile due to genetic incompatibility.
